    RXTX Seat Cover Removal

I have an '08 RXTX and am trying to get the seat cover off to have the stitching repaired. All the staples are out, now have run into a problem. How do you get the brackets/round things off that are in the pictures? They are what hold the passenger strap in place. I just cannot figure it out without bending or breaking something.

    Thank you

Those are aluminium rivets that hold the seat strap on. You will need to drill off the rivet head with a drill bit, which is slightly bigger than the hole you see in the centre of the rivet. Don't drill all the way through though, just remove the rivet head initially. Once you remove the rivet head, you should be able to remove the seat strap, which will allow you to remove the seat cover. You can then knock the remainder of the rivet into the inside of the seat or drill it out with the right size drill bit. You`ll need new rivets obviously if your going to be installing the strap again.
