Hydro Turf Seat Cover
I've got a hydro turf seat cover coming for my Fxho cruiser 2009
Do the covers go over the existing cover or does the old cover come off?

The hydro turf cover goes over the stock one.

With the cruiser seat you have to remove the OEM cover because there is velcro on the foam that holds the cover to the backrest sections. Hopefully yours fits better than mine did. The rear seat cover on mine was not a good fit to the backrest, which caused the velcro to rip out of the foam after a few rides. I had my upholsterer redo it it & he used some superglue on the velcro to help anchor it to the foam a little better. He also used some adhesive on the cover to prevent it from pulling up. After a couple years it's starting to pull out again though. This time I'm sending the rear seat to HT so they can make a cover that fits properly & have them install it.
Here's a few pics of mine.

If the new cover has any sort of pull tabs or Velcro that require it to go through the foam the stock cover will have to come off. That was the case with my VXR. If the cover looks to just need stapling around the edges you should be good to install it right over the stock one.

There are no tabs, just velcro, & the stock cover has to be removed with the cruiser seat.
