    Rebuilding 951 couple questions

Hey guys I bought a gsx with a bad piston. I was gonna get the cylinders bored for a set of wisecos. I know I have to let it warm up as I do with all my vehicles. Is there any thing more negative on using the wisecos ?

Also will be changing the balance shaft bearings and all new seals.

Any more points would be appreciated.

oem pistons are a better choice and about the same $$ as wiscos-- that is if you can get away with only .25 mm over bore.

Well I pulled the motor apart tonight it's going to need a crank and I will get a rebuilt counter balance shaft.

now the upper case has a spot that chipped. Here is a pic. If I blend in both side will this harm anything. It's the spot right above the Reed case.

Try to file those rough spots out in the centre as best you can and put a small radius on the damaged edges near the reeds so as to avoid any more debris coming off
The shallow V in the case helps lubricate (using air/fuel and oil flow)the low end con rod bearing so smoother you get this the better
I have used cases worse than these and they are still going strong after 100+ hours

What is that scratch or is it an oil trail on the bearing surface ?????
