    RIVA IC

Can someone please take measurements on the Riva intercooler please...I need them for a Special project. anyone know the PSI rating the core needs to be?

    core size, air inlet/outlet diam.'s, 1/2"NPT i am guessing.
    total width and length...

The Vortec and Piranha cores are tested to 300psi

    Jase.... 300psi man?

Maybe there's a conversion error or some misinformation... I've never pressure tested one to it's limits, but I really can't imagine a pretty thin aluminum core can hold 300psi of anything.... that's in the territory of power tool air compressors... that or i'm just wrong and utterly under-estimating the durability of these intercoolers.

    Can you verify that again?

    CORRECT 300psi

This is why the outer walls of the core are usualy 6-10mm thick as they contain the load...

If you take the time to study a core you will see how it can hold huge pressre .

All the water pressure is equalised to the outside walls so the inner walls dont actualy carry and pressure unless you get a blockage or air captured inside.

    Amazing but true!

I can tell you Piranha (John) told me he tests every Intercooler to 300psi and does random Burst tests on intercoolers and they can make 500psi before exploding and this must be done in a water tank....

Its like firing a 458 elephant gun into water......

How about we send one of every INTERCOOLER type to MITH BUSTERS

    nooo chit... wow i'm impressed.

I know when someone called Vortech directly and asked for a pressure rating on their core, it was NOWHERE NEAR that high
