    2000 gp1200r bendix stuck.

Alright so I'm completely new to jet skis. I have had boats atvs and dirtbikes that I worked on but decided to finally step over to something new. I picked up a 2000 gp1200r yesterday from a friend out of a trade and the bendix is hung up on it. The starter turns over without hesitation but it won't turn the engine over. The only way I can see to get the flywheel cover off is to pull the engine or go from the front by removing the gas tank and everything. Is there another option? I saw something about spraying it with a lubricant but I can't find an access point to do this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

remove the stinger and U pipe, and then you can remove the front stator cover

if its premix he may have a shot of blasting some cleaner through the block off plate....maybe?

It's still set up under oil injection if that takes away that possibility. So just pull that part of the exhaust and I can get to it?

you can try smacking it with a hammer on the left side of the cover by the starter too, but they usually stick because of rust... rust usually because the stator cover is getting water in there

plus what if you are in the middle of the lake and it wont crank?

Cool that looks like it won't be too bad especially with those directions! I did try tapping on it to free it with no luck. So it looks like I will start pulling it apart tomorrow after work. Thanks for the help. Any other suggestions on things I should do to this particular model?

D-plate and chip while the stinger is out
    Waveeater clips
also decide whether to block off oil pump and go premix, or just secure the oil lines while you are in there

Ok I got everything out of the way from in front of the front cover. Do I need to remove the linkage and everything before pulling the cover? It looks like the oil pump linkage. If I pull the cover with everything still attached will that be alright?
