I have always been a fan of NGK plugs. They make a Iridium lX plug but I'm not sure what the cross reference part number would be.

i saw that as well richard... That NGK makes the same thing, just don't know which one comapres with the Denso.

I thought it was ammusing that the spark boots and coils on our machines are all manufactured by Denso.... yet they put NGK spark plugs in, go figure

Checked the NGK site - they listed the iridium plug DCPR8EIX.

for the 1494 engine same as ixu24

    Tim

    Try ** (site removed for cc fraud) ** - denso's were 9.95

12mm, 3/4" reach, 5/8" hex, gasket seat, projected tip, resistor, fine wire (0.6mm) iridium center electrode, tapered cut ground electrode, SOLID TERMINAL NUT

Won't work - because of the solid terminal nut

Check out sparkplugs.com - Cool Stuff - This is the listing for the IXU27

"Iridium plug, 12mm thread, 19mm reach, 16mm(5/8") hex, gasket seat, 0.4mm slightly projected iridium center electrode, tapered cut U-groove ground, resistor, 0.35" gap"

    11.99

aren't the ixu27's for a pretty heavily modded motor, and the ixu24's are for a basically stock motor? out of curiousity, does anybody know which ones come with the ppg level one kit?

i would not call a PPG level one "Heavily modded" and they come with IXU27s

i mean let's be realistic, it's a spark plug, ur not gaining 100 rpms or 1mph outta a spark plug... in a STOCK boat the 24s.... any kind of air intake and/or exhaust and above go for the 27s
