    what to buy,looking for a 4 stroke 3 seater

So I am looking to buy a 4 stroke 3 seater yamaha or possibly honda. I have had stand ups for 15 yrs but not much knowledge of the four stroke sitdowns.Thinking 07 -09 range as I don't want to invest a lot as my main fun comes from stand up freestyle, just want it around to take the occasional cruise, more interested in nice ride in some chop then speed so thinking I don't really need an 1800 cc.
I have ridden friends 07 fx high output and 06 Honda f-12 non turbo and found them both adequate speed wise

As far as yamaha goes , they have quite a few models and after spending about 4 hrs on the net have not found any good info on the difference between them other then motor size..

07 they only offered the 1052 cc in 4 models, they had the vx, vx cruiser and vx deluxe and fx high output at a list price of 15 k vs the deluxe at 11,000. So what sets them all apart

08 had the vx, vx cruiser and vx deluxe and fx high output at a list price of 15 k vs the deluxe at 11,300
Is the fx high output worth the extra money, what are you getting

09 and 10 had the vx, vx cruiser and vx deluxe

So if I were to buy 09 I would need to get the 1800 to get the fx high output model

As far as I can see the vx has no reverse so thats out
And the deluxe only upgrade is the formed seat, so they are pretty much the same..
So how much better is the 07 1052 fx high output if i decide to go that old

Mainly need some help determineing what the differeces are here
does anyone know of dealers with old stock leftovers

    Thanks

The "VX" series are somewhat smaller, flatter bottom skis w/ less amenities. All have 110 hp, smaller storage, but excellent fuel mileage. The "FX" series are slightly bigger hulls w/ more deadrise for rougher water and most amenities Yamaha offered at the time. Usually came in 140 - 160 hp versions. The "VX" series run approx. 52 - 54 mph. The "FX" HO series 57 - 58 mph. Good luck!!!

Vxs/vxr -180 hp average 65-68 out of the box on 87 octane with no turbo or sc. Storage is lacking but great mileage comfortable ride for a lower pricetag. Comes with reverse but no trim ....more amneties on fx/fz models.

o.k. so the 07-08 fx ho has more horsepower 160 compared to 110 form what I can see, that seems like a lot but not much more on the top speed..
what kind of amenities does it have other then trim, anyone know.
I found a good price on anew demo 2012 vx cruisers but not sure if I will be happy with the power..

Other then checking pump and impeller for damage, is there anything to look for when buying a used 4 stroke, anyway to check compression

if you are just looking for the occasional ride and speed is not a concern and low budget and cost of operation(87oct) then roll with the vx110 deluxe. if you want speed then dont go with a 110 ..... decide what you want to do then you will lessen your options of ski.....you can go slower on a fast/quick ski BUT you cant go faster on a slow ski unless you drop $$$$

Honestly why not buy a VXS, for not a lot more you get a lot more ski IMO.
