    MSX 150 Gelcoat Repair

Well as you may figured out, I am keeping the 150 for some unknown reason. Guess I just cannot let this ski get the best of me. Almost pulled the trigger on a new seadoo, but instead orderd parts and now it is time to fix the gelcoat.

What do I need to repair the gelcoat. I bought it with roadrash on the front nose down to fiberglass and the bottom needs to be patched up. Also have dock gouges on hood, so I need some plastic repair for that area.

What do I need for materials before I send it in to get painted. I will post some pix this weedend.

i suggest you take the hood to a paint shop (supplier) to colour match. just a suggestion. and i also suggest any primering on the plastic panels should be epoxy primer.

as for the hull its self any polyester gelcoat is fine. but i never repaired the damaged in the nose of my 150 as the silver has a metalic silver, and i had no idea how to match that. i looks like pigmented clear gelcoat!

if ur hull is black, it should be easy to fix in black

I am thinking of re-painting the entire upper 1/2 with some type of silver flake that is close, then paint the bottom black. Thinking of taking the rear grab handle, the hood, and the cowl below the hood and have them all shot with same paint scheme.

Repair the hull and bring it in and have it shot black on bottom and silver Metallic on top. I think the Polaris stickers for the bottom are still available and hoping your sticker package works out.

i tryed that and they couldnt help. (only polaris dealers around near me only deal with atv's) else i would buy the havasu red for my hull. instead im using RAL standard colours : traffic red.

im going to spray mine a porsche black metalic i think... rather then a solid black..
