Water in the jet pump :( Questions
Hey guy took off the pump to repitch the prop and found water when I took off the tail cone. So I'm picking up a rebuild kit tomorrow. Is there any suggestion on whether to use grease or use gear oil? Also good news is it has a Solas 14-19 impeller in it nice surprise since I just bought the ski. Needs some pitch tho as its on the limiter. Also how does this wear ring look? The impeller was tight against it with no gaps or anything.

Replace the wear ring.
It shouldn't have those grooves.
Those grooves mean your not getting the hook up you should.

I just did mine and went with gear oil. Bearings will last far longer assuming you don't get any water in.

Grease works its way to the back of the cone and stays there. Gear oil comes back to lube when you slow down.
