Any advice on how to R&I the little round clear plastic check valve on pump body without damaging it and the rubber plug?

Should get new gromets with kit or you can remove old ones if your carefull.
Use some lube, you could dip in gas.
Install is easy use lube again you can put a pin inside the plug dont push on it to hard.

I always put the check valve on the pump body and line it up over the hole the grommet goes in. Then I push the grommet through the hole in the check valve and through hole in the pump body. When you push the grommet in with your finger, one side will make it in, then I take a very small flat blade screw driver and push down on the edges of the grommet until it is all the way in the hole, all the way around. Just be careful not the crease the check valve with the screw driver.

Hello jetskiron, Scott is correct by right you should change them. But if you have to reuse them the best way i found is put a couple drops of oil on the back side take a little pliers grab the rubber piece and wiggle back and forth and pull not to much pressure because you will rip it. Going back in put a couple drops of oil on the plug and on the hole were the plug goes in, Get a 1/16 drill bit flip it over and use the flat side of the drill bit insert in hole of the rubber plug as you hold the drill bit with your fingers push down very lightly wiggle side to side and it should go back in make sure you do not push hard because you will put a hole right threw the rubber.
