    Impeller question plz help

Is a Solas 14/21 KR-Cd Beter then the kawasaki stock? By this question I'm not just asking of performance but also in lasting. Does it damage faster or will it last just about same. I just wana know the pro and cons of switching from stock prop to Solas prop.

Just run your stock one until you need a new one then replace it with the Solas because it is a good bit cheaper.
Personally I would not switch the impeller on a rec ski just to switch it.

Depends on the Solas you get. If you get a true 14/21. with a scom biggest advantage is lowers rpm back down to a safe level you may see increase recovery time in offshore riding. For rec riding not a big difference as GL said. Without a scom it will make the boat really slow its to much prop.

You need a guage. As it appears some peoples props have been coming from Solas with different pitches.

Unless you really want to play around with stuff, leave the stock prop in. Mine did 92 hours without a rebuild. I've recently tried some Solas props, and had my stock back in. In about an hour, but lets be kind and say 5, you may see cavitation burns on the Solas. I ran my repaired stock for 15 hours after trying the Solas' and not a mark on it.

There has been a lot of discussion on this. Have a search and you'll see a few comments.

    Cheers, Mal.

I'm running the solas 14/21 and you will notice a big difference in holeshot (at least what I have found ) . I still don't have a SCOM and fire is right especially in chop when you come unhooked your speed gets brought down for about a second so for that reason I really do need to get a Aussie SCOM. As for it lasting I haven't had many dramas yet I'm up to 20 hours on the solas and it was checked at 10 and was like brand new, I checked from the back of the ski just then and it looked perfectly fine. But others have had different experiences with the prop.
