Ultra 150 Heads: R&D vs. Skiworx

    So I'm looking into heads.

    R&D: http://www.maccracing.com/mm5/mercha..._Code=RD-KW-HD

    Skiworx: http://www.skiworx.com/ultra150.html

Is there another one someone would recommend?

First, does it matter that I have oversized pistons when ordering?
I know the piston doesn't travel past the jugs. So im just pushing more air and fuel into the combustion chamber

I found some used r&d's 42cc. It mentioned light detonation marks.

Now I'm I right in thinking with Skiworx Heads you could just get new domes and have "pretty much" new heads?

So if my thinking is right you should get the Skiworx. Because if you have detonation problems you can get new domes.

Also if some could look at my setup below and tell me what domes I should go with. 42cc seems to be popular.

    2001 Ultra 150-R,
    1mm overbore,
    Milled Heads
    Ported and Polished,
    Stinger Mod,
    Solas 16/20 by SkiWorx,
    Stock modded Grate,
    Shred-Master

Have a look at ADA Heads. I have them and they are very good quality.

    I wouldn't touch Skiworx.

I looked at the ADA. Not a bad price either.

So am I right with the changeable domes. If i had deto problems i can just get new domes

Short answer yes, but it's unlikely you'll damage a dome, and less likely you'll ever need to replace one through detonation. I've destroyed a piston and not a mark on the dome. The most that is probably going to happen is some aluminium gets melted on them, but that can be cleaned off easy.
