2005 RXP motor in a 2007 RXP
Can someone tell me the differences in the 2005 RXP 215 motor and the 2007 RXP 215 motor? To put a 2005 into a 2007, what would have to be done?

they are the same..
there may be some wiring differences but every thing will fit

Skidoochris is wrong; they are not the same. (then he goes and says "there may be wiring differences", which means they are not the same!) Not huge differences, but definitely not "plug and play".
There are at least three primary differences that I remember (there may be others) , from a "bolt-in" perspective, the breather assembly changed from front to rear in 2006, so you need to deal with the front vent switch/sensor, since the breather changed, they changed the orientation of the crank trigger and gave it a different connector so you need to deal with that, and the oil pressure sender reversed polarity, so you need to swap it out.

Ok, I just built an 11' motor for my 05' RXP.
Here's the differences:
To run an 05' with 07' Electronics, you would need to use the 07' PTO cover, and Clock the trigger wheel 2 bolt holes CCW from current position, BUT it will still be off about 7* from the 07' crank positioning...( I had to elongate the trigger holes, and set it as close as possible to dead on)
It would be easier to run the 07 crank in it to avoid that hassle.
If u changed ALL the electronics, down to the dash, it would work fine.
Like sea dood mentioned the TOPS assy would be over the timing gear(on the 07'), and you would need to use that, along with the 07' front oil pump, and the 07' (blue) oil pressure switch.
You would have to pull the head, and remove the oil restrictor, in the block, and run the 07 rockershaft.
They also drilled roughly a 3/8" hole in the block behind the balancer to help ventilate the cases with the updated tops valve
It is possible, if u have those use-able 07'parts

As long as the crank trigger, crack shaft matches the PTO the electrics dont care.

ok so i'm going to resurrect this thread in light of my 04 RXP project. SOO... i got a 2004 RXP that came in pieces (i have been asking a few things lately about it) my question is if its a 07 computer with a 07 motor will this work. Why does the gauge cluster have to be swapped out? it all came with the seadoo so i have been figuring out what is there and what needs to be done. Thanks

The 07 electonics will not work on the 04. The 04 has different gauge, mpem(07's do not) and completely different wiring harness. If you have the 07 harness and gauge, it would work.

Im installing everything that came with the seadoo now and the wiring all connected perfectly so it has to be a good match. I wasn't sure what the motor was because it had a manufacture date of 2007. But everything seems to be fitting and connecting. Haven't powered up any electronics yet so fingers crossed it all works out.
