    Which gasket material?????

Folks -in the name of time, I want to cut my own gaskets for reed plenum, and carb. I bought rubber/fiber sheet gasket material from local auto parts thats specifies best sealant for gas/oil/coolant. 1/32" thick is this the correct material?
also-- I bought a tube of Lucas marine grease. Can I use this grease to put on starter gear/Bendix gear and starter spring in front cover? Thanks

as long as it is gas resistant it will work. yes you can use grease no problem.

Thanks-- the gasket material i bougght is 1/32 thick which is thicker than stock reed valve cover gasket and oil injector gasket on front engine cover. I also bought hylamar gasket sealant which i understand is great for sealing gaskets.

Yes, and yes. You shouldn't need any gasket sealer if both surfaces are clean and smooth.
