    New purchase any info

I bought a 2000 ultra 150 that I was told was rebuilt by a shop in California it supposedly has wiseco parts and is not stock. I got a good deal even if it is but have no idea how to find out who did the rebuild if anybody can help with a rebuild shop in California that specializes in triples that would be great the ski will do 80+MPH and I want to know what parts to buy when it needs another rebuild.

Wellllll, depends on so many things whe it was rebuilt:

Was it bored and sleeved or replated?
If it was bored and sleeved,to what size, stock or oversize?
Ultra's when being rebuilt means many different things, was it just new rings and pistons, or was it a new crank too.

That being said, it hard to "stock up" in advance for what it may need for the next rebuild.

Now how may hrs since the rebuild? Hrs on the ski? Has the pump been rebuilt and upgraded?

Does it Run? Hows the compression? Tripples? what carbs are on it.

You say Tripples, are you refering to an aftermarket exhaust or that it just a 3 cylinder. (the 80mph part begs that question)

Post a pic of the engine will answer a lot.

Well it looks stock to me. I was referring to the three cylinder engine but, it is a lot louder than my 900 zxi.. My real question is who on the west coast is known for building this engine up. I asked for the paper work from the seller but he could not find it ... I will post a pic this weekend

There have been a couple. It costs quite a bit of money to make it go that fast.

Im guessing the ski is not going 80mph.... the first time I rode an ultra I thought it was crazy fast (it actually was) but only about 67 mph crazy fast (very fast for its day) the exterior of the motor looks very stock but I could be wrong.

Ok, it's retry much stock from the looks of it, top speed about 64mph

Rebuild looks like it was 3 new cylinders (not painted same as heads). Probably stock bore with stock sized pistons and rings. It has new oil lines (good)

Compression test should be around 145 for stock compression.

The only way to check the pump is to remove it. If its never been off, it can be stuck. Remove steering and tilt linkage (10mm) then the 4 14 mm bolts and then the 2 Allen key bolts in the ride plate to pump. Then Wiggle and pull and it should come off. Don't loose any O rings.

Once off, spin the impeller, it should be smooth and not all banged up, small nics can be filed out.
Remove the tailcone and if there is water in pump it will need a rebuild.

I see no battery in it, does it run?
