FX HO Cruiser - Will these mods affect engine reliability and or fuel economy

Currently 100% stock, 120 hours and problem free

I was thinking of adding the following mods to gain a bit of speed but only if it will not have an affect in long term engine stress and or reliability and fuel economy.

    Riva Parts:

    Performance Power Filter Kit
    Velocity Stack Kit
    Free Flow Exhaust Kit
    Top-Loader Intake Grate
    Performance Ride Plate

Do I really need the pump seal kit and how much speed do I gain if I also change the impeller ?

those simple mods will have no effect on the reliability of your ski just more power slightly better economy.just dont expect miracles with those mods maybe 3mph.search forum member abracadabra he had two ho's he modded and documented all the gains before and after.

I got a chance to ride mine today i have the exact mods except that my parts are R&D with the exception of freeflow exhaust which is Riva i got a reading on my gps 58mph (android phone) not sure what the stock speed is as mine came with the mods as far as reliability the way i see it the mods will give you more air intake but less filtration but i don't see that being a problem as long the inside hull is clean but this just a newbie opinion.

GPS or dash speedo? If dash then that speed is incorrect and irrelevant.

On my stock '07 FX Cruiser HO I've hit 57.8MPH on GPS.

I was thinking the same maybe he is going by speedo, as my impeller/wear ring is in excellent condition and not experiencing any cavitation and getting 58mph but still happy with it. @Yahooligan, is that on a full tank of gass flater water and what level is your trim set to ?

I don't remember how much fuel, but trim would have been neutral, flat water, my then-11-year-old daughter on the back and my 210lb butt in the seat. I actually think the speed was a little higher, but it didn't get logged in the GPS track so I'm going by what I have logged online from that day - http://connect.garmin.com/activity/207950681

Are you sure it's stock? I wouldn't think just the hull material would add THAT much speed, my stock SHO was only able to hit just over 62MPH the other day, again with my daughter as a passenger and between 1/4 and 1/2 tank.

My 2006 FXHO hits 59.8 every time i GPS it, some times i can get 60.4 its stock as well. So i could see someone else hitting 61 stock.
