Broken Timing Chain: Help Assess the Damage!

Please help me assess the pics here. Are the valves bent? How do the tops of the pistons look?

2004 Seadoo GTX 4-Tec SC with 59 hours.

I was out on the lake today cruising in at 35mph and it shut off and threw code P0344. I did alot of reading here about broken chains so I pulled my valve cover and sure nuff' it's broken. I've got the head off now. Is there a way to rework the head and replace the timing chain without pulling the rest of the motor out of the ski? I'm working on a limited budget. Any suggestions?

Not really any way to do it without pulling the motor. You've gotta pull the pto cover and fly wheel to change it.

I read somewhere about a "recall" chain. Is there any merit to this option?

But can the "recall" chain with the master link be used?

You should be able to use one. They are the same size. Definitely looks like at least 4 bent exhaust valves. You should make sure you check all of them though.

Its apparent you have bent valves and not sure if the recall chain is the way to go. Sucks having such low hours but would definately upgrade valves to at least Supertech as found on the GH store.

So it looks like I only have (4) bent exhaust valves. I can't really tell a lot about the pistons.
