Should I change the washer after only little hours but many years?
I swapped the washers out on a ski back in 2008 on the 06 RXT and this one isn't used much. It's had just 55 hours in 5 years. Would the washers deteriorate over that time or should I not swap them out just yet.

Actually, they should be fine...As long as the ski was fired up and ran atleast once a summer, get a few heat cycles in there, then you are okay...
mattydipps, you HAD to do yours because of the OEM ceramics in there...

The thing is the washers are probably still good but that only 1/2 the possible issues.
The bearings in the s/c are probably needing a change.
My buddys rxp 215 just had the bearings go out and it wiped out the charger, flywheel, and a few other vital things.
Change the bearing EVERY TIME you change the washers.

wotxxxsd is giving you good advice here!
The bearing cages get brittle over time. Do a full rebuild every 100 hours or every two years whichever occurs first.
If a bearing lets go things get real ugly
