Gtx To RXDI......worth the chance? Worth the change?
Morning all. Found decent price on 2002 RXDI, 183 hrs, supposedly always maintained by nearby Riva dealer. Thinking bout replacing my '01 Gtx 3 seater with it. LOVE my Gtx. Very reliable, fun but think I need a little more "fun factor"
From what I hear, the RXDI should have lot more kick and maneuverability. I still have another GTX for wife n kids.
I basically want more acceleration n top speed without having to modify engine so I figure the RXDI would be the way to go.
Secondly, I'm tired of premixing and my other 4-stroke has spoiled me with the gas-n-go option.
Also, what kinda compression should i be looking for?
Any thoughts? Thanks

where you are going to keep a gtx for the family as well, then the rxdi would give you more of a fun factor for sure. It will come unhooked easier and not as stable than the gtx but thats the sacrafice you make for more "fun factor". I have a carb version and its alot of fun, and i have had passengers with no problems in the ocean. 150 psi is what i have on a newly rebuilt stock 951.

Tha't a lot of hours for a DI. Unless they are well cared for they start having trouble at 250 hours. I've never seen one on an original motor with over 300.
I think the gtx is a great ski btw.
