    97 Waventure 760 vs 98 Waveventure 700

Hi guys new to the site,

    I'm looking at:
97 Waveventure 760 195hours, needs new battery and has torn seat condition is about 7/10 for $1300 w/trailer. OR
98 Waveventure 700 hours unknown (haven't physically looked at it yet), needs nothing condition looks awesome 9/10 for $1300 w/trailer.

    A few questions

Which motor is known to be more reliable?
    Top speeds of each?
Any other information would be great.

    Thanks

Welcome to the Hulk. Both are great riding, reliable machines. I would go for the 760 and spend a little extra making it look nice. There is a big difference in power feel between the two in that large machine and the 760 doesn't really consume much more fuel. Also if you will be doing any towing you'll get frustrated with the 700. WVT700 will do about 46mph and the WVT760 does about 50. Easy to work on and parts prices are the same on both. Go for the 760.

Thanks for input I actually bought the 700. It was way cleaner and was original owner. The 760 guy was a little shady. Anyways the only thing I don't like about the 700 is it has no gauges except for oil light. I woulda like to know hours on machine and also a fuel gauge would b nice. Can I get a gauge for fuel?

Sounds like maybe you got a rental version. Does it have mirrors and reverse? You can use the gauges and fuel sender from any twin powered venture and probably raider too. You don't really need it though. Just ride until it quits, switch to reserve, then head back in.

Ya no mirrors , no reverse....is there anything else I need to know about this "rental" version?

Nope, it's just a stripped down version that was sold cheaper when new. That's why so many rental places bought them. Still a great reliable machine. We had one for several years.

Thanks for the reply, do you know anywhere I can get the hose hookup so I can start it in driveway? Also where exactly do I plug in that hookup (I looked around engine, didn't see anything special).

You can buy that fitting (flush adapter) from SBT or most any place that sells PWC parts. You can also start and run the machine with no cooling water whatsoever for about 60-90 seconds without damaging anything. Also I have a manual , try this.

If that doesn't work PM me with your e-mail and I'll send it that way.

Manual worked great, thanks for all your help! couple more questions. It sat for about 6 months and has about 1/2 gallon of oil in there. 1. Should I drain the oil and add fresh. 2. What's the best oil to use. Thanks
