Attention Athena users - Technical Announcement
DATE: April 29, 2013
PART #: RS11891-ECU-DC
PRODUCT: RIVA/Athena Pro-Series ECU for Sea-Doo iControl Models
SUBJECT: Firmware Update (v M43C43F52)
We are proud to announce the release of new Firmware & Map’s for the RIVA/Athena Pro-Series ECU for Sea-Doo iControl models. The new Firmware (vM43C43F52) & Map’s provide additional control for users and addresses several issues identified through customer feedback. We encourage everyone with a RIVA/Athena Pro-Series ECU for Sea-Doo iControl models to update your ECU immediately as we are no longer supporting the previous version M43C43F48 & Map’s.
The new Firmware is available on the RIVA/Athena ECU Manager Web Site on the ‘Downloads’ page and is bundled with every Base Map as well.
NOTE: If you have a custom MAP running with previous firmware version, RIVA Technical Support can update this Map to new firmware version.
We are providing dedicated Technical Support by phone, e-mail and online should you require assistance or have any questions. See contact information below.
The following features are included with the new Firmware:
1. Improved Idle Quality:
Base MAP revisions deliver smoother and more consistent idle RPM than with previous version .
2. Full Idle Control:
User can set desired idle RPM. Previous firmware was designed to preset idle at 1,800rpm, but idle could vary on some units due to throttle body manufacturing variances. User can now set target RPM easily with updated firmware.
3. Full Fuel Table Control:
User now has 100% control of fuel tables. This provides increased flexibility to customize MAP’s for custom applications including aftermarket camshafts. Previous firmware was limited to +/- 5% for specific locations (boost/RPM) and an overall trim of +/- 20%.

The new firmware is great and will really help those with TBs that vary further then previously thought. Idle quality and adjustable idle rpm should make many people happy that were having problems with this.
Having 100% control of the fuel table definately makes this much more open of an EMS but care must be taken IMO. If your having to make drastic changes in the fuel please make sure there isn't something wrong or causing this like a bad MAP sensor etc..
Robert has been working very hard on all the possible motor combinations in order to help with tuning. The Race ski will be running on Athena by Thursday and will let everyone know how it goes. Motor has high compression, custom cam, ported head, large valves, custom header etc.. Curious to see how far we really need to move the tables around.
