Custom Air Intake Mod - Please Help
I want to make a custom air intake for my 06 Sea Doo Sporster with 4-Tech Non-Supercharger. I'm looking for a little info on cone filters. Should I use a filter Like K&N that has oil on it? Or should I use a Dry Filter? Can someody point me in the direction on the correct marine filter to use. I'm not sure if the oiled type filters are ok for the 4-Tech...I'm just asking this becuase I know oiled type filters are not good for the MAF sensor on my Truck. Not sure if they will hurt the 4-Tech though...Thanks for any info or photos

You shouldn't have a problem running an oiled filter. If i was more familiar with how the seadoo boats are setup i would tell you you'd be fine running no air filter.

The 24" long intake hose runs directly off of the throtte body in the form of a 3" diameter flex hose and then into a plastic air-box that sucks air from a small rectangular sealed air-box. No super Charger on my model. I just figured the custom intake would give me a little more gitty up out of the hole and the filter would filter any dust. Thanks for any input....

No doubt you'd see a gain. There's no filter on the stock setup. There is a flame arrestor inside the intake manifold however. Go for it man make something. get creative. I'm sure you'll be happy with your results. You'll probably get some cool engine sound out of it too.
