What RPMs are you big blower skis turning with a stock bottom end.
Planning on a re-flash to run a Rude3. Just wondering what RPMs some of you guys are pushing with a stock bottom end.

you think the bottom is the weak link in big rpm?
be careful some of the flashes are not even mapped for high 8s and up

Considering the valvetrain has been upgraded and nothing else.
I will data log and tune with a CMD. I just want the flash for timing and rev limiter.

whats the timing looking like with the vtec reflashes if anyone has an idea are they pulling a bunch up top ? how about the riva ecus ?

Just remember big RPMs always decrease the life of the engine. Moving parts generate heat and the faster they move the more heat and the less time between cycles to cool down. I wouldn't worry about the charger except maintenance. Also make sure you have the best oiling possible

Stock bottom is fine till 9500, wont last forever but the internalls are strong, pistons are a weak link with big boost. Consider upgrading them to CP's. Valvetrain needs to be addressed at those rpms too. I dont feel that with the stock pump there is much point turning above 9000-9100 but its nice to keep the limiter away from your goal prop speed...
I would keep my oil a bit cooler and suffer having to change it more often, it helps cool the bearings and back of the piston. But dont run it too cold!!!

Still on stock pistons and bottom end with just riva valvetrain and stock lightened valves running a 9.5 limiter at around 9k. No issues. Running riva open loop as well.
