Cool Possible to remove oil pressure reg from PTO cover w/o pulling engine '04 GTX S/C?

Does anybody know if its possible to take the oil pressure regulator out of the PTO cover on a 4tec supercharged engine without pulling the engine? I replaced both oil pumps with good used Ebay parts and have very little oil pressure (and faults) and would like to try changing the regulator before trying different pumps.

    Thanks,
    Ron

Pull the engine and do it right rather than struggling trying and not succeeding to do it any other way.

Even if getting it out was a "HOUDINI" it would be nice to do it without pulling engine, since I'm not absolutely sure the regulator is the problem. If I could get it changed someway, then I could start it up and see if I have pressure, and if I don't, I'll probably have to change the oil pump.

And, obviously, changing the pump would require engine pull.

Just pull the engine, its an hours work out and a bit more going back in.

Do the job right and once or else something will go wrong and you may do more damage with low oil pressure and that WILL cost much more.

It does not have to come completely out. Just hoist it up enough to get to plug.
But then again pain the axx to work on so might as well put it were u want it.

I would highly doubt the pumps were bad if they visually looked good, unless there were metal particles left somewhere in the block. I had the same issue as you and it was due to me over tightening my regulator when assembling my engine. It did not take much to damage it.

Did mine in the hull....It was tough but got it done....Just have to remove the pump and drive shaft so you can pick the motor up high enough to get your hands in there
