RXT 255 crankshaft corrosion
I just took my 2009 RXT 255 engine apart for complete refurb as it busted a valve that then destroyed the piston and cylinder head. Left it sitting for a while due to my being pissed off and winter comming anyway........ bad mistake not preserving anything before parking it in the corner until motivation comes back to you......
While it was sitting i now realized i have some corrosion on the crankshaft and cam shaft. not excessive but still a concern i recon. Can i ignore minor corrosion and just try and assemble or is any level of corrosion bad and needs dealing with? i know im being a bit vague here but will have to post pictures later.

As long the mating surface of where the bearings meet and chain are clean u should be ok ... The webbing don't matter ...
U can always send it to a machine shop to give it a light clean but stay in factory specs ...
