    battery question

my battery is toasted i think..

i go to start ski and it clicks, its medium strength i guess, just not enough to turn it over

i put the charger on it, set to 10amp and it will start again just fine

i have it charging now at 2amp, the liquid seems alright most of its full

should i start looking into a new battery?

im thinking the gel ones since their supposodly easier to maintain, how much do they go for?

its for an 05 GTI LE

Yes, if you disconnect it if not used more than a month, and if a Battery Tender is used. I prefer the Deka ETX16L's over the Odessy's. I've had better service from them.

More than 2 seasons is possible if you use the battery tender ALL THE TIME you are not riding. It really does keep the battery happy!!

The site off ebay is awesome. I have purchased two batteries from them. They never loose their charge and have incredible cranking power. Don't buy any other brand.

Check the voltage at full charge. You should have 12.6+ volts. If its 10-11 volts you lost a cell (six cells at 2v each)

I run the snot out of my Deka in whichever ski I'm riding. After 3 years it is stronger than a new lead/acid.

    Gel Cell Battery

I got 4 years out of my gel cell battery. It's on a battery tender durring the off season (we race snowmobiles). It just died this past weekend after a long run on the river in extreme chop. I will be buying another one today.
