    Question on chain tensioner

I currently have a 2006 chain tensioner and recently just had my head and blocked decked. Would it be better for me to go to the 2008+ model chain tensioner? Are there any differences between the two?

    Thanks!

If i had .008'' shaved on both the head and block combined, should I go with a RR chain tensioner? Would I be fine with the 08+ model chain tensioner since I read that it was a little bit longer than the one from my ski. I will be going with a factory head gasket.

Since the distance is shorter between the crankshaft and camshat after decking the block--or head or both would you not want a shorter chain to keep the same tension?

The slack side of the chain tensioner is Spring loaded. No need to change the running rail on the slack (right) side..
