550sx vs A whole lot of cash for a different ski

Hey guys, pretty much I have a dilemma. I have been told by a few mates, that instead of spending another 5-7 grand on a superjet, spend some cash on my 550sx. They seem to think with a bit of smart spending and good mods. They will bite/jump/accelerate as good as a superjet, just completely different hulls.
I have been told ride plates (not sure which brand), different exhaust. and some other things. Just trying to clear up what the best thing to do is, If the 550sx could really get close to the superjet. What's the best mods/brand to be buying.
    Thanks!

A 550 will never be as good as a superjet.

It doesn't have to be completely 100% better then a superjet, the real question is, will modding a 550sx be enough to keep me entertained? Or will I want something faster yet again after I have finished modding it.

Mill the head. Exhaust is ok. Ride plate, grate, bigger carb, porting. It'll be fun. My 550 hauls butt.
Should keep you entertained but it's not a SJ. Get a 750SX or SXI.

Would this grate be any good for a performance mod?

I have a 650sx with some light tweaking that does 43mph on GPS. But I also just bought a SN Superjet so I guess I'm not much help.

Why dont you ride the Kawi for a while, see if you like it, and if you want to move to more power in a big-boy machine, check out Superjets and SXRs and wait for one to come along in a good deal? I personally wouldn't put much money into the existing machine you have, but I too am biased....

Oh and visit X-h20.com too, Tons of info there on the stand-up worlds.
