Msx 140 fuel pump removal
I've removed Ficht pumps from my virage and genesis but never from my msx 140. I got a bad pump and the steering is right there making a pain in the butt. Any tips on what method of pulling it out is appreciated.

I think you have to take the steering out.

Yeah thats what I really wanted to avoid. I love the genesis setup where it's easy access to the pump.

I've pulled the fuel pump on my MSX 150 and it was a pain. I think all the MSX's (110,140,150) have the same fuel tank but not sure about the pump assembly in it.
Yeah... the steering column has to come out. Then after removing the air vent hoses, draining the tank and un-strapping it... it's possible to roll it over on it's side. This *should* give you enough clearance to extricate the pump assembly. I don't think there's enough room to lift it straight up and out even with the steering column removed. I had my engine out so I was able to push the tank into the engine space, get it right-side up and pull the pump assembly straight out. With an engine still in place...
doesn't sound like fun. Getting those straps back on was a challenge.

Thanks for the info guys. Went just how you said ripcuda. A real pita. The challenging part for me was trying to get the pump to go in strait. The rubber seal kept hanging up on one side. I don't plan on doing that again.
