Opinions on the 2002 Honda Aquatrax F12?

I guess all the Honda guys are on vacation because they can't form an answer to this same question in the Honda forum.

Any opinions on the 2002 Honda Aquatrax F12 (non-turbo)?

They are all out riding their hypothetical 90 mph skis.

I am looking for an additional ski in the $3500 range and came across one with 271 hours and a double trailer. I was hoping it would be a good ski for my wife and kids since my 04' GTX S/C is about to go under the mod knife and will be off limits.

Honda ski are great if properly cared for. I had two and put 400 hours on one and 300 hours on the other. The main thing that sucks is almost no one knows how to work on them and Honda does not sell skis anymore. I would recommend a Yamaha FX HO for a good overall reliable ski for your wife and kids. I have a few buddies with the Yamaha FX HO and it is a great ski. They can be picked up for about 4.5k, which is over your budget but definitely worth it and the resale of them is great too. Additionally, the Yamaha is optimized to run on 87 Oct verses 91 Oct for the Honda.

I had the F12x with MACSboost IC and chip. It was good for 60 if I remember correctly. Had a stupid problem with the IHI turbo wastegate actuator. It's in an impossible place to service and needs to be sprayed after every ride. The engine is bullet proof but they should have thought about their design better. It's also not the driest ride

I have definitely read that they provide a wet ride................ and are bullet proof if maintained. Not really looking for huge top speeds or to spend $4500 so I thought it would fit the bill. As far as service, I turn all my own wrenches so that's no concern for me.

I mean to maintain the turbo. It's under cowling and impossible to get to with removing bits of the ski. It's in a horrible place. I don't think the x series

    I've had a few Hondas.
    Nothing but issues with them.
In your price range I would find a yamaha vx 110.
That's a great and dependable ski for the family.
Hondas just not a good ski builder in my opinion.
