    thermostat 160 F

    bought the thermostat and see just such a brass or bronze rivets. I want to install it in the stock thermostat housing, leaving staves? maybe we should crush her? advise

    I think 188 or so.

    That brass 'thing' is a jiggle pin. After shutting off the engine, it allows the pressure built up from heat to slowly move past the thermo so as not to pop a gasket or overly stress the coolant lines. It's an ingenious little doohickey.

    What is the application for that thermostat? I'm assuming it fits in the stock housing.

    I would be interested in installing a 160 Thermo on my 2011 RXT X. I am scouring the threads to see what advantages it has and if it is worth installing. Maybe you could share your opinion?

    Yes the 160 Thermo is worth installing,it helps keep the motor cooler in turns helps keep engine bay temps down...
