    proper launch technique?

Looking for some guidance from you racers etc out there on the proper way to launch the ultra. I played briefly yesterday in the water for the takeoff and simply just slammed the throttle and it sounded/seemed like the ski just cavitated for a momemt (I could hear it) and then it would start to move. I didn't want to do it too much since I only have 3.5 hours on the ski so far. It was a quick test.

Have others played with the launch or have experienced any cavitation on takeoff?

What is the best way to launch for fastest takeoff?

Does this change when/if there is a wedge?

I have heard everybody state the Ultra has no cavitation and just launches from the start.
    How much you weigh?

You have a leak in your tunnel on the rubber sealing ring in front of the pump. As I was instructed, take it apart, clean all the grease off the sealing ring. Lubricate the rubber ring with windex and re-assemble the whole thing.

Launch it any way you want to. If it's sealing, it just goes. No spin!

    My weight is about 142lbs.

I could swear it sounded and felt like it cavitated. This is my first 4 stroke however. I will look into what hydro is talking about and try it again.

How do I get to that ring? Do I have to pull out allot of stuff from the inside to get to it?

I can remember many moons ago when I weighed 140's. Your ultra should post some numbers with you riding it. Good Luck

I weigh about a 145lbs. For a hole shot stance, I always put one leg forward and one back (like a mountain climber stance) and put your weight over the handlebars, to keep the nose down. It has work for me countless times getting the hole shot.
I have hole shot a couple times at world finals and at nationals. Takes alot of practice to get it down right. So I would try that (practice) before tearing your pump out.

Thanks for the tip. I will give that a try next time I am out on the water.

Yes, I won a set of bunk naps for the hole shot. Ended up throwing them in the trash!! When dry, my ski would stick to them. They also will dig into the gel coat.
