    AFR guage (MTX-L) install

How is everyone wiring their MTX-L AFR gauge? I've seen people do it off the bilge, battery, and other places as well. I was looking over the directions and it recommends a switched 12v source. What's the easiest way/ wire to tap into? I've searched a lot of threads but haven't found anything concrete. If you have pictures that would be even better. Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know as well. I have seen the same methods of wiring it up but nothing concrete as u mentioned and I would like to see some pics. I have a new MTX-L that I need to wire in as well.

I run it off the battery to a switch mounted on my dash. Some wire it into the ignition but I prefer it on a dedicated switch.

So just wire the MTX-L to the battery with an inline toggle switch? Help me understand, you just flip the toggle switch on when you are riding and turn it off when not riding?

I have taken power from the 3 wire connector that goes to the meter. dont remember what colors right now but its just to measure to be sure. AFR powers up when you press the startbutton

That's what I did to my bilge pump.....I hot wired it with a switch in dash.....It has saved me 3 times now, don't have to run my motor, or power my electronics to run the pump in a event water gets in compartment.

Then I took my MTX-L and used the stock power from bilge pump and hooked my MTX-L to that.......now It's on a switched circuit, and that wack bilge pump issue is fixed
