mechanical gauge.... is analog with a needle that swings on the gauge and shows boost... you connect a capillary tube from the intake manifold to the back of the gauge.

Electric gauge... can be analog OR digital.... if ur gonna spend the money, get a digital one, far easier to read for obvious reasons

i'm a fan of the dynotune boost gauges. high quality and high precision.... it's all electronic, and had a sending unit that converts the air pressure to a low voltage signal which is translated into a numerical number that represents the boost your manifold is seeing.

with a stock intercooler... you need to drill the intake runner and put a tube there and use adapters to connect it to the sending unit...

with an external intercooler, i'd recommend drilling and tapping the intercooler block-off plate

give me until tomorrow and i can take a pic... my hood is off my ski right now and should be back on tomorrow hopefully... then i'll be able to power it up and take a pic for you.

the led RED is gonna be the easiest to read in the sunlight in my opinion... i've never had a problem reading it... bright and clear all the time

all the other ones are just black digits with a background light, but obviously u dont see the background light during the day

I went with the square and mounted with velcro to golve box lid so I could put gauge in the glove box under really wet conditions. used the tap the IC block off method. smeared a little ultra black around the edge of the gauge and around where the wiring goes in it. spilce in to the purple and black wires in the Wiring harness portion going up to the steering column right by gas tank
