Oh what to do, Any advice??
What's going on guys? Blake here. I have a question that id love to get some opinions on before I make my decision. All replys are very much appreciated! Ok. I have a 2001 gp1200r with about 130 hrs. Love the ski but I wanna go faster, easy as that lol. Now time for the question should I keep my 1200 motor with 130 hrs on it and rebuild it fully and just work my 1200 motor out or should I say the hell with it and do a conversion?? Id like to keep the old 1200 with a fresh rebuild and work it out to hopefully 80+ but ill be happy with high 70's (maybe) I still want a reliable ski lol would it be worth it in the long run?

I wouldn't spend the money on building a 1200. You won't get to eighty (or anywhere close) without triple pipes, and then you loose reliability

Unless you want to spend 7k plus in a conversion, I would say get a gp1300r. Can get one mid 70 with little expense like an efi, reeds, flame arrestors, keyway, high compression head, intake grate, ride plate, Solas prop and maybe trim tabs.
