DJSA Series Race #3 - Camp Far West - Sunday May 19th 2013 - Wheatland Calif

    Coming up Next ......
    DJSA 2013 Outlaw Point Series - race # 3
    Sunday / May 19th, 2013
Camp Far West Lake - north shore

Saturday – registration and all day formal practice for all classes
Saturday afternoon – Junior Time Trials and Match Racing
Saturday night – free admission to Zernik campfire antics

    Sunday – series race #3

    Physical Address
    8176 Camp Far West Rd
    Wheatland, Calif, 95692
    (530) 633-0803

Lakeside camp sites are available adjacent to the race course for the event.
    Regular camping rates are –
    $28 a nite with launching
$23 a nite with no launching

Regular day use gate fees are –
    $18 with launching
    $13 with no launching.

The “pre-race start line race” is now officially underway. Pre-reg entries are now being accepted. Start line choices will be determined by the order in which pre-entries are received, but most importantly pre-reg entries guarantee you discount entry fees so again, save yourself a few bucks and get them in early. It really does help me out - and it helps you out because ALL ENTRIES ON RACE DAY ARE $85.
    * Please email all completed entry forms to [email protected]
    * Entry forms can be downloaded from www.diablojsa.com
    * Pre-reg entries will be taken up until Thursday 5/16/13 at 9pm only.

    Entry Fees –
    550 JS - $5.50 a day / 440 JS - $4.40 a day / 300 JS - $3.00 a day
    X2’s - $50 a day
    750 open standup - $40 class incentive
    All other classes are $60
All late entries on race day are $85 regardless of class.
Additional classes are $20 each. (max of 3 classes in a day)
Junior Time Trials on Saturday are $25

All classes run 3 heats – the 3rd heat will break any ties unless advised otherwise by the race director.

Paypal payments definitely helps us out and speeds things up on race day, but they are not as important as getting your entry forms in!!! I need to know what classes you are running, what skis you will be on, and what your race numbers are ahead of time. The information requested on the entry forms is for a reason - so please fill them out completely or they won’t be accepted.

The computer recognizes racers running extra classes and efforts will be made to keep racers from running back to back heats. Your pre-entry information greatly helps with that effort. The official schedule of the day will be announced at the riders meeting.

    Junior Time Trials~
The 2nd Junior Time Trials runs of 2013 will be held on Saturday afternoon at CFW.
The A group is for junior racers ages 12-17.
The B group is for junior racers ages 7-12.
Rider ability is a key factor in determining a rider’s placement in either group.
Proof of age and medical coverage for all juniors is mandatory.
PLEASE plan on bringing your kid’s ID or birth certificate, and proof of medical coverage to registration.
Parents or legal guardians must be present at the event for your kids to participate.
Entry fees for the juniors are $25 each.

    Important Racer Info~
10" (or larger) visible race numbers are required on every ski.
If a race number is duplicated – the newest racer to djsa will add the initial of their last name to their race number.
    * Unreadable numbers will not be scored
    * ALL SKIS MUST HAVE A TOW LOOP ATTACHED to the bow
    * ALL SKIS MUST HAVE A WORKING SAFETY LANYARD!
    * No numbers - no tow loop – no lanyard - no racing – no exceptions!

    Wetsuits and Race Gear~
    * Full face mx style helmets are required
    * A coast guard approved PFD is required
    * Gloves are required
    * Goggles are required in all classes except the X2 Army and 550 JS
    * Footwear is required in all classes
    * Shin guards or leg protection is recommended in the upper classes.
    * Neck braces are recommended.
    * Chest protection is recommended for the SCXP and Sprint sit classes.
Please “dress to impress” and set a good example to the public by having all your required race gear in good condition…

    * All holders must wear approved helmets, eye protection, footwear, and a PFD.
    Gloves are recommended. No exceptions.

    * Any holder found to be under the influence of any intoxicants will result in their racer being dq’d for the day and the holder in question suspended from entering any djsa start lines for the rest of the series. Holders are expected to maintain the same professionalism, sportsmanship, and ethics as the racers they are holding for.
I greatly appreciate your efforts with this request.

    Beach starts on the band~
Start line position choices will be determined by the order of pre-entries received.
New racers will be randomly assigned to the outside lines.
Intern racers will run delayed starts behind their class unless the startline official advises otherwise.

    X-2 Army – engines running
    Standups - engines running
Sport Sit (Sport gp 1200 and 800 runabouts) – engines running
Sprint Sit 1350 – dead engine lemans
SCXP expert sits - dead engine lemans

    Fueling~
Fueling lakeside on stands is permitted ONLY when using absorbent fuel pads which are available at registration or the scoring tent. Violations of this request will result in all racers having to pull their ski all the way out of the water to fuel. Please don’t blow a good thing. Use the pads, and caution, be responsible, and we’ll be good to go. ALL used pads will go into the djsa small sized metal trash cans located at the race trailer.

    Pit Vehicles~
    * Pit vehicles are ONLY allowed in the event area and cannot be used for trips up to the store on any paved roads. You can ride up the dirt road adjacent to the paved parking lot and someone can run into the store for you, but they cannot be operated or parked on the pavement.
    * All pit vehicles must be operated at 5mph or less.
    * All operators must be 14 years of age OR accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 18 years of age.
*Any reckless operation will result in pit vehicles being prohibited at the site.
Again, please be responsible and let’s not blow a good thing.

    Scoring~
    Regular points.

    Course~
    Red buoys – right turns
    Yellow buoys – left turns
Blue buoys with red or yellow – start of a split
White buoys with red or yellow – end of a split
The black “walk of shame” penalty buoys will be taken at no wake speed.
Speed violations in the penalty zone will result in having to take them again….and again….and again.

    * All standups are now required to take the buoys kneeling in the tray.
    * Sitdowns can practice what no wake speed is by riding their ski at slow speed and looking back briefly to answer a simple question – “am I making a wake?”
If the answer is no you’re good to go!!! If the answer is yes – you can fix that problem by simply letting off on the throttle.

The penalty buoys are to be taken immediately upon signal from Team Orange, not when you decide to take them. Failure to follow the instructions of any Team Orange Safety Ski Rider will result in your being placed a lap down – or dq’d depending on the severity of the violation. No exceptions. Then again, if you don’t miss, hit, or run over course buoys you won’t have to worry about taking the walk of shame, so give them plenty of room and have yourself a great race day!

    Please remember~
    * One Ski length safe zone rule in effect at all times – no exceptions
    * Lead Ski has the right of way at all times, even with “outside in moves”.
    * 100 ft yield rule in effect at all times – no exceptions
    * Mandatory 1/2 speed slow down in all yellow flag corners.
    * Penalty buoys will be in place - NO CIRCLEING BACK TO MAKE UP BUOYS!
    * Reckless or negligent racing are grounds for leaving early.
    * Unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind, on or off the water, is an invite to leave early and includes any disrespect to staff, fellow racers, crews, race site owners, employees, staff, or volunteers.
    * No alcohol consumption is permitted by racers, crews, or holders until the END of the race day.
    * All racers must be 18 years of age unless accepted into djsa internship program.
    * ALL RACERS must have proof of current medical insurance available for inspection.
    * All pit sites must have at least one working fire extinguisher available for immediate use.

Racing hard and racing fast will always have my admiration, but racing clean and racing safe while watching out for your fellow brother and sister on the race course - will always have my total respect...

    Ok, here it is -

Arnold sent me a couple cool ideas but I couldn't use them this time because of the layout at CFW, so you guys are stuck with another 4 in the morning Lambert brainstorm...

Blue line is the SCXP and Sprint runabout extension.

Junior Time Trial Course is also attached.

Study it, learn it, memorize it, and on sunday you'll be able to shred it!!!

and for you early birds, please note where the pit parking starts so I can get all the gear in friday morning for set up...

    Thanks guys!!
