    Need some help!

hey guys,iv got a wave jammer 500 and i was out riding it the other day, tearing up the lake and all the sudden it cuts off,i get it back to the dock and start checking everything and find out it stopped sparking,no fire at all....what could cause it to just stop firing in the middle of a run?

Electrical problems are the worst. if you can get you hands on a good ohm meter it would help. first check the wire connections for corrosion, check the ground connections, ohm out the kill circuit.

About the CDI boxes, everything is possible but what are the odds ?
I had once a similar problem with my kawa 650 SX ,seems the problem was the stop button.
Donīt know if your ski has such a button or lanyard but itīs worth checking out like mudslanger told.

The Yamaha 500 CDI's are all interchangeable. As long as it's a 500 CDI it will work. Kill switch or overtemp sensor could cause that. You need some specs so you can ohm out the electrical system.

    Pulser --------------------102 ohms. BLK--WHI/R
    charge--------------------90 ohms. BRN--WHI/BLK
    lighting coil---------------- .10 ohms
    ignition coil----------------pri 15 ohms.
    ignition coil----------------sec 3500 ohms.

Check stop switch to make sure it's open when it's supposed to be. Overheat sensor is just a switch, should be open to ground. When it goes bad it will constantly ground out the ignition system.
