    Question Jet Pump rebuild help!

I am rebuilding a jet pump on a 99 GTS. Do I need to pack the bearings with grease? Also a buddy told me I have to add an additive to the jet pump oil, is there any truth to this?

The pump is filled with oil so no need to grease the bearings. I have used regular synthetic 75/90W gear oil for many years in many different Seadoo pumps with no problems. It's a good idea to pressure test the pump after assembly and before filling with oil to make sure the seals are good and there are no leaks. Change the pump oil once a year.

When I do one I usually go over the part that rides in the seals with some emery cloth if it looks worn at all to straighten it up. Then I pack a little grease in the seal lips with my finger before sliding the shaft back in. I also have used 75-90w synthetic lube in them for years with no problemx.
