    Splitting the SC case

I have a spare X and the case seems to have welded itself together. It's only cast so I'm a bit concerned going after it with something other than a rubber mallet. I know others have had to have the same issue. Anyone have any ideas?

There are some tabs molded into the housing for this specific purpose. A large, well placed screwdriver does wonders!

1/2" drive ratchet fits the tabs. Insert and twist.

Ah, found what you were talking about in another thread. Unfortunately I have a newer style charger that doesn't have those 2 tabs together.

I don't know about the sea-doo's but on some of the bikes i worked on we couldn't get casted parts to split we would do this:
Take all the bolts out plug the holes (Intake/output on the SC) and fill it with water. Put it in a bucket (to catch any spilling water) and into the deep freeze. When the water froze it would expand and neatly split the half's. This would always apply equal pressure from the inside and minimize the chance of breaking the casting. Im sure someone on here could confirm if this would for for that application or may have a better idea.
