    Coupler removal from uninstalled crank

Any good tips? buddy removed his crank without taking the PTO coupling off first (rope trick would've been nice)

I just bought a 1050 crank that came with the coupler on it. I have a big vise on a super heavy welding table. I first double over an old bath towel in the jaws and place the Pto end of the crank in the jaws. Then took an open end wrench and gave it a quick crack with a hammer, broke loose easily
