    1200 XL1200 1999 - 2000 BR8ES-11 0.043 i found this can anyone confirm ? what happens if gap is set lower or higher?

    the old plus i took out are .026 which is in that group but a found more then one source that says .043

    I have just br8es in mine, not sure what the -11 means, I'm not sure there is a difference. You can gain some performance ( I was told years ago by an engine builder ) by bumbing out the gap. You test by test driving till engine starts to ping, then go back down till it stops. I think that is how it was explained to me years ago. I'm not sure that would be a good idea to do on a 2 stroke though. Not positive though.

    br8es goes into 1999 none power valve ive installed those in my 1998 1200 and those did have .025 gap but this is a powervalve motor and my 1200 gpr had .045 this ski is 1999 1200 xl ltd and all info i am coming across says .045 to .048, what ping mean in your post @pantherdawg
