Sealant for jet pump after prop change
Just changed to a skat prop from the oem today. I have 3M 4200, 5200, and "the right stuff" on hand. I have a stage 1 FZR, and although I made a good initial guess on pitch, I doubt this will be the last time it comes off. I know the manual recommends 1194, but that is not readily available. I am planning to use razor blades and wire brush to clean the sealing surfaces.
Whats the best thing to use? I keep pulling up intake grate threads when I do a search.

I use Threebond. I've only ever ordered it online and it's a bit expensive.

I never seal the pump /stator/ reduction nozzle with any sealer This makes prop changing a breeze. I only seal the wear ring to the transom. Been dong it this way for years. Tommy Jordan

I agree with Tommy and never seal the pump.

Tommy is correct. just clean everything up good and only seal the wear ring to the transom. none on the rest.
