2000 RX Millenium Fuel gauge and Speedo not working...

Any clue on the quickest way to diagnose a fuel gauge and speedo not registering anything on the gauge?

is this ski one of the skis with the older fuel baffle problems? where the magnetic float becomes loose and actually dislodges from the holder?

im like 75% positive that your ski would have the problem, going to need to replace the fuel float.. the additives in newer fuel eats away at the glue that holds the magnetic and then bye bye fuel gauge...

not sure if i can post this site but heres what you need to order.. http://www.parkeryamaha.com/seadoofu...295500438.aspx

its simple pop out the baffle from the tank and open it up from the bottom.. pop out the old float and find the magnet.. and put this new piece in and your good to go

it can also be a fried resistor or fuse inside the fuel baffle, theres a thread in the 2 stroke forum about fixing it i think, i had to do mine.

Unplug the fuel sender, put a "jumper wire" (loop) ON THE gauge side, not the sender side......press the start button and if the fuel shows FULL on your Gauge now, then its the sender and thats really most likely anyway...
