    Starting. 2 issues

Well, I recently got a 1993 Yamaha VXR pro waverunner running which hadn't run in over a year. Lots of tinkering, but I took it out the other day and it ran great for about an hour. It took a lot of starting which drained the battery a bit by the time it was ready to stay running. By the time I got back to the dock I had to stop and start it a couple of times to bring it up right to the dock. On my third attempt to restart it, it did nothing but just a tiny little click. Hopefully, it is just a dead battery. So, went home and charged the battery overnight and just hooked it up to the WRONG terminals and got a spark. Ugh, too excited and too early in the morning I suppose. Now nothing happens at all when lanyard is hooked up and press the start button. Any suggestions? Thanks

It was a blow fuse. However, when I go to start it all I get is a click sound out if the electrical box. Any ideas? Solenoid?

Tried to jump the relay and sparked and smoked. Looked like smoke coming from the oil sub tank? I guess I'll get a new relay and starter to be on the safe side. Anything else I could have fried in doing this???

Starter motor is / was toast.
Your click sound was the starter-solenoid doing its work, but that`s probably toast after your fireworks ( at least less reliable )
You bridged it, and your starter motor started cooking. thats why the smoke came from the front of the engine.

Replace solenoid and starter motor. check if engine is'nt seized, ( removing the sparks will let it crank without compression )

Make sure all electrical connections are clean and well connected!

Good luck! and let us know how it all works out

So, if for some reason it is seized would this have happened prior to my fireworks or after? I really hope it isn't seized. I ordered a new starter and starter relay and hope that fixes it. However, how exactly do I check if it is seized?

Before. I'd check you engine first, before ordering anything.

Remove sparks, and try to manually turn the engine around.

Good news. The engine turns over so I now know it is not seized. Just an electrical nightmare I'm having and hopefully a new starter and starter relay are just what I need. Any other possibles?

Also wanted to add that I replaced the 10A fuse that was blown with a new one and I hooked up a voltage meter and I get power from the battery to the starter relay/solenoid, but nothing coming out of the relay to the starter. Good news maybe meaning that the relay is the culprit and/or replacing the starter too might not be a bad idea after the fireworks.
