    Am I In Trouble???

'03 GTX 4-tec non SC. starts up every time and idles just fine. On the trailer I can hit the throttle and she responds as usual and as expected.

In the water she idles fine but when you lay on the throttle, she makes a weird shrill sound, does nothing and shuts off but will start back up just fine.
Removed the drain plugs and light brown milky stuff oozes out. The same stuff on the oil dipstick.

Little history: she just came from the body shop getting a hole in the hull repaired. NEVER had a problem before then. I'm wondering if the body shop had her upside down too long and perhaps that brown stuff is the result of water going somewhere it should not have.

Any suggestions before I plunk down even more money for diagnostics?

Yes that could be what caused the problem. Do as others have suggested and change the oil and see what happens.

get a can of engine de-greaser, spray it in the hull and wash it out
that lube/water is sticky and will never dry
the squeal is the big problem...did they work on the drive line

Thanks guys. No drive line work just hull repair. Only ran her for 5min at idle til I noticed the prob. I always idle my skis Couple min upon startup before I let her rip so didn't noticed anything until I tried to open her up. Once I noticed the prob I shut it down. So she was only idling for about 5 minutes. Since I don't have a pump, gonna go ahead and take her to the nearby shop and let them change oil.

    Thanks again

buy a pump, you'll be running 15-32 qts thru the engine to clean it up. use cheap oil for flush, final fill good stuff+new filter.

it's getting tougher to dispose of contaminated oil, and it's always been a problem to get rid of nasty bilge oil so if you drop is an autoparts store I'd suggest keeping it on the down low that here was a bit of an oil problem with your ski. Mix the worst with the best so it doesn't raise eyebrows as it goes gurgling into the tank.

you only need to run the motor for about 2 minutes after adding fresh oil. Use the engine drown mode to squeeze the last 1/2 qt of nastylube out of the engine

I'd run the ski easy for the first half hour after the oil looked clear..just to be on the safe side of things.

I assume the coolant level is at the expected place?
