Bypass the LR-505 Start/Stop solenoid if you can.

Another possibility is to use a metal tool to jump across the two heavy terminals on the start solenoid. Do NOT touch the tool to any other metal, just those two terminal posts.

The engine should crank and start. If it does not crank with solenoid shorted then something is wrong with starter motor or battery/cables.

I used a screw driver. It started fine. Saved me a LONG tow home. Glad I had both skis out there tho.

I was looking for the LR bypass, but it was really tough to find it browsing from my phone and all the waves.

Different symptoms. The CDI power rewire to Orange mainly applies to pre-2000 domestic engines, and has different symptoms.

In this case I expect that the LR-505 Start/Stop module has failed. The symptoms of no engine stop when the Stop button was pressed, and no engine crank when the same Start button was pressed, match up with a bad Start/Stop module.

I have had some owners report the change was factory installed, others like yourself needed to do the update (for year 2000 models)

Dunno if it was a mid-production run change for 2000 or if Polaris only did it on some year 2000 models

I just replaced that thing with a brand new 505! It better not be broken already!

Genesis is up and running again. Starter solenoid was the culprit. Good thing I had a spare!
