    Does this look right?

This is on a FZS with a R&D grate and modified plate. Just want to see if this is supposed to be smooth or have that lip from the rideplate to the intake grate.

    Thanks for the assistance.

The amount of gap probably depends on the shims/washers you're using under it.

Mine looks just like the picture. I run a Jim's VX plate and R&D grate.

Great, thanks for all the quick replies. I thought it looked right, but just wanted to be sure. Got a lot of new mods on and just want to make sure everything is the way it is supposed to be.

It's pretty common to see them like that, but I would suggest doing two things. Check the alignment of your transom plate. If it is hanging down more than it should that difference will be greater than others. You can check this by looking at the tabs on the transom plate compared to the tabs on the hull. This will be looking from the back area pump side.
Also shim the front of the rideplate till you have about a 1/16 of an inch transition from transom plate to the ride plate. Here is how my Jim's VX plate looked on my ski. Angling the front of the plate will gain more nose lift equaling more speed. Hope this helps.

Great, thank you. I'll give this a try.

Hey Rock, this was one of my concerns with the R&D plate on my 2013 SHO. Will be posting further in the thread about that plate when I can get a bit more time...
