1996 seadoo gtx pump issue ( gap between wear ring and prop)

the engine runs fine and will rev out but the ski wont move get to it usual top speed or move quickly at all. I have never worked on one of these but comparing it to my rxp pump when i pulled it there is a even gap all the way around between the wear ring and the impeller is this normal?

You should not even be able to see that white ,plastic. The whole outer layer black plasticized rubber of your wear ring has rotted and come off. Very common on an older Doo or one that's been sitting for a few years.
