    Hey All!

Hey every one this is my first post but I've been lurking around the forum for a while now and its 'bout time i post something, Names Craig and I'm up in London Ont Canada. Ive Recently bought a 96 SL900 and a 99 SLH and was given a 96 SLTX. And its time i get these running. I bought the 99 SLH a week ago for $600 with spark only on pto cyl. I thought it was going to need a stator but tonight i got time to work on it and i popped open the e-box and found a crappy wire repair on a wire going to the rectifier. Still had no spark when after fixing the wire so tested stator and rectifier tested bad. After replacing that it fires up and runs great. The 900 and SLTX i got before winter and both were not running when i got them, the 1050 has been sitting for 2 years in a barn but has a brand new motor in it! its missing all the mats and is filthy dirty right now. Wheres the best place to order hydroturf mats from Canada? I want to get it going soon but the 900 comes first, i rebuilt the carbs from the 900 tonight and will put them on it tomorrow and see if it runs. Compression tested 120 120 118 and good spark with updated ignition so it should okay after the carb rebuild.
Ive got two intake grates here ones a solas and the other is an r&d ill get some pictures of them but the solas has two scoops and the r&d has one, so my questions is between my three ski's the 1050s grate is trashed the 900's missing and the 700's stock what hull would i be best to put what grate on? or will it make no real difference?
Lengthy intro sorry everyone! look forward to more posts!

    Welcome!

I would put the scoop grates on the bigger engined hulls. Putting the R&D '650' grate on the SL 900 would be my starting point, but I am not familiar with the Solas intake grate.

I see an MSX hull in the background. You got a watercraft repair shop going there?

nice eye! my father owns a Polaris dealership, its easier to work on them at his shop then in the drive way plus he has all the service books so its easier for me to figure things out! ha. I'll throw the r&d on the 900, so its the "650" grate then? and the solas on the sltx once i get to it. My MFD on the SLH does not work and the screen is dark im pretty sure its pooched but i have not looked at it yet. i guess i dont get to know my rpms on it! MFDs are extremely hard to find around here, maybe ebay has one?? ill look tonight!

MFD with faded LCD digits are typically repairable.

    Other damage, not so much.

If the MFD is not working at all, then leave it unplugged from the connector in the back.

Sometimes a dead MFD can cause weird ignition problems if left connected.

Yeah i had heard that they could cause some funky stuff but wasnt sure. Started looking athe sltx yesterday and it looks like the impellarnd stator are pooched. Im gonna go over the carbs and replace the fuel lines. She makes 125 psi across the board so we will see as i tear into her
