What are they worth, Virage TXI?

Time to thin the herd, got way to many skis around and need to clear space for some other toys. Got a pair of 2001 Virage TXI skis, one has 104 hrs, the other 127 hrs. Got any ideas on what the current market is? New laws about carb 2 strokes at federal lakes making the injected skis worth any more?

Probably not as much as you were hoping.

Per NADA $710 each, with $445 for a two place trailer.

    Per my personal experience:

    (710 x 2 + 445) x 2 = $3730 at the lower end

I already looked at NADA and at least what advertised prices are on other things around here they are pretty low. I ran my little 92 Kawi 750 SS on NADA and it says $610, yet every single one advertised in even decent shape is $1000 and higher.

Not sure I follow your math unless you are also saying NADA is low. At $710 each and trailer that comes to $1865 not $3730.

If $710 each is all they are worth, I will part them first.

(Winter time deal), I think it would bring $2700+ with the trailer (around here) up to $3500 tops

A lot depends on condition of the skis. If they are running I would think 2000-3000 each is about right.

I just did a 1000 mile radius on Craigslist to see what Amys might bring. Depending on areas seems alot are going for 1600.00 to 2500.00. The carb'd model would be alot lower in cali. And areas like lake mead. Do a search on uour area.

I did search in my general area and came up with no Virage's for sale. I will do a searchtempest and see what I come up with. Thought I read somewhere CA outlawed 2 stroke carb engines and also heard they have been banned at federal parks and lakes. I would think that would make the injected skis a little more desirable.

I should have explained my math. Look a little closer, you will note the total is multiplied by 2. In my personal experience in recent PWC shopping, double the NADA price is right around the price point where private sales fall (warm weather bumps the price up). I believe NADA is listing trade in, insurance, or some other lower value.

NADA is what the bank will give somebody for a loan to buy the skis.

the meade two stroke ban has torpedoed book values on all two stroke skis. buyers know this.

the fear is that this will extend to all inland lakes and all two strokes ( direct injected or not) in the next 5 years.

Besides that Polaris electrical and trim parts are notoriously hard to come by, reducing long term value

Patience is key to sell em whole..you can make really good money parting them..but hull disposal is becoming an issue in some markets

In my view if you can get $3500...grab it!..but they have to be in excellent shape with no eyebrow raising problems on skis or trailers.
